The Magnavox Odyssey is the first commercial “home video game console”. Released in the U.S on the 5th September 1972, it reached the UK shores in early 1973.
Each Odyssey was sold, with the box including : console, 2 player control units, game cord, antenna game switch, 6 batteries, 6 cartridges and many accessories for 12 different games.

The Philips Odyssey 200 plays three games: Tennis, Hockey and Smash.
This was the first “dedicated” Pong console to have on-screen scoring, a little white square would move up when you scored a point.

The Philips Odyssey 2000 is essentially an updated version of the US Odyssey 300 console. The 3 dial controls for each player, a consistent feature on all early models has now been replaced with a single dial each.

The Philips Odyssey 2001 is similar in design and build as the Magnavox 4000 but unlike the US counterpart again only plays Tennis, Hockey and Squash.
The Controllers can now be removed from the console and held in one hand with the other hand using the dial control.
